About

Armistice Day is a special day for Ypres. Every year, the Poppy Parade and the Last Post at 11am are fixed ingredients in a broader programme commemorating the end of WWI.

On this day, however, the city of Ypres and the IFFM also want to remember the civilian victims; the Ypres people who lost their lives during or as a result of WWI. Last year IFFM started an initiative with commemorative keys spread all over the city.

Program

  • 2.15pm: gathering
  • 2.30pm: welcome on behalf of the Ypres city council
  • 2.40pm: city walk to commemorate the civilian victims of WWI in Ypres
  • 4.30pm: end

This year, special attention will be paid to the fortunes of Gabrielle, Albert and Joseph Notebaert who died on 6-7 November 1914.
