Ook de bataljonsgeschiedenis van het 1/7 Battalion van de Sherwood Foresters blaast de loftrompet over de Belgische artillerie die hen dekte bij The Bluff: “In this sector of the trenches the Robin Hoods were covered by a Belgian Battery whose firing was wonderfully accurate. At one point where the opposing trenches were only some 50 yards apart, the Belgian shells passed within two or three feet over our front fire trenches, and destroyed some 100 yards of the enemy’s breastwork trench…”
